Why We Chose C-22 Hastelloy for Hastelloy Fork Liquid Level Switch
Jiwei has launched a high-temperature-resistant and corrosion-resistant level switch ——Hastelloy Tuning Fork Liquid Level Switch.
Hastelloy is a high-performance alloy that all have nickel as a primary ingredient. There are several common types of Hastelloy:
1. Hastelloy C-276 is known for its corrosion resistance in a wide range of aggressive media. The high molybdenum content imparts resistance to localized corrosion such as pitting.
2. As a high-end nickel alloy, Hastelloy C-22 is the most versatile Ni-Cr-Mo alloy available today.
3. Hastelloy B2 provides resistance to pure sulfuric acid and a number of non-oxidizing acids.
4. Hastelloy X possesses an exceptional combination of oxidation resistance, fabricability and high-temperature strength. It has also been found to be exceptionally resistant to stress- corrosion cracking in petrochemical applications.
5. Hastelloy G - 3 0 alloy has outstanding resistance to hydrofluoric/nitric acid mixtures.
Hastelloy has high temperature resistance and exceptional corrosion resistance, so they are widely used by the chemical processing industries.
Both C-276 and C-22 have outstanding corrosion resistance — substantially more than any of the stainless steels — however, C-22 provides better resistance to general corrosion and much better resistance to localized corrosion in the presence of chlorides.
The C22 alloy also provides corrosion resistance over a much broader range of oxidizing and reducing environments, and using it to construct your processing system will give you a highly robust system for resisting corrosion in a wide range of chemical environments.
Based on the above analysis, Hastelloy C-22 has a wider range of adaptability and relatively superior anti-corrosion performance. However, in comparison, the C-22 is relatively costly. Depending on the applications of Fork Liquid Level Switches and the common needs of customers, Jiwei finally chose C-22 for Hastelloy Fork Liquid Level Switches.
