Methods to Measure Low-Density Solid Levels
Solids media have different characteristics and measuring the level of solids can be challenging. This technical note outlines the most important areas for consideration when measuring level on low-density bulk solids.
The substance with less than 0.3g/cm³ bulk density is called a low-density substance. The bulk density is therefore an important selection parameter for point level measurement.
Different materials possess different characteristics. Silicon dioxide is the main material in the white carbon black industry,the powder is extremely light and fluffy.
Some clients have attempted to use Rotary Paddle Switches to monitor low-density materials, but failed. However, we recommended to use Fork-11 Tuning Fork Level Switch, which successfully handles lightweight media applications that are difficult to measure or detect like fine low-density media with density of 0.008g/cm³.
