The JWrada-21 Radar Sensor is a compact and cost-effective intelligent level measurement device based on 80GHz Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar technology. It offers a maximum measuring range of up to 30 meters and is also suitable for short-range and general process level applications.
The sensor comes standard with HART/Modbus communication protocols and is equipped with an integrated Bluetooth 5.0 module. In combination with the “Jiwei Smart Control” WeChat mini-program, it enables convenient wireless on-site configuration and monitoring. Leveraging cloud-based data services, it also supports remote commissioning, software upgrades, and monitoring.
Powered by Jiwei’s proprietary echo-learning intelligent adaptive algorithm, the JWrada-21 Radar Sensor provides false echo suppression, multi-echo separation, and dynamic target tracking. These features allow it to automatically adapt to process variations, ensuring long-term stable and reliable level measurement. With its compact structure, simple operation, and maintenance-free design, it offers enhanced user convenience.
As an ideal alternative to ultrasonic level meters, the JWrada-21 Radar Sensor is widely applied in hydrology and water management, general liquid level monitoring, and small-range bulk solid level measurement, delivering a high-value intelligent measurement solution.
The radar sensor emits a frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) high-frequency (80 GHz) electromagnetic signal through its antenna, with the frequency increasing linearly over time. It receives the electromagnetic wave reflected from the material surface. The periodically transmitted FMCW signal mixes with the reflected echo to produce an intermediate frequency (IF) signal. By analyzing the frequency spectrum of this IF signal using a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), the flight time of the signal (TDR) is indirectly measured. Combining this with the speed of light, the radar level meter calculates the distance between the antenna and the material surface, thereby accurately determining the level height.
